When asked if his professional life would clutjpge if he won the lottery, St. Clair was frankly philosophical. “I’ve only got five or six years until 1 could take retirement,” he said. “1 like my job a lot. I’m neither cynical nor hardened, but 1 am a realist. 1 believe in the basic^good of mankind, but I’d give up my sheriff’s job in a minute to take up training and riding full time.”
