P. Nielsen, M.D.
Peter Edward Nielsen, M.D., 49, of Flint Hill, died on Feb. 13.
He was bom June 25, 1946, in New York to the late Ole Peter Nielsen and Patricia Harrington Nielsen.
Dr. Nielsen graduated from Cornell University Medical School. He was a Commander in the U.S. Navy Medical Corp and served at Bethesda Naval Hospital. He was Chief of Radiology at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elmira, New York and was the current Chief of Radiology at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Susan E. Nielsen; one brother, Eric Nielsen of Alexandria and one step-sister, Ann S. Nielsen of New York, N.Y.
Additional survivors include his wife’s family, Mary and Frank D’Alessandro of Slate Hill, N.Y., Ellen and Peter Altamura of Westown, N.Y. and Josephine Castro of Oceanside, N.Y.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, with Rev. Jennings W. Hobson, III officiating.
A public memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Friends may enter through the main entrance and will be given directions to the place of service.
