RAAC On Tour
RAAC, Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will sponsor a “Museum of Your Choice” day trip, weather permitting, to Washington, D.C. on Saturday, March 2.
A sample of shows currently at the Washington museums: “The Ashcan artists and Their New York,” Museum of American Art; “Landscape Kimonos by Itchiku Kubota,” Natural History Museum; “Liberation ‘45,” U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum; “Weston’s California and the West,” Phillips Collection; and “The New American Ghetto”at the National Building Museum. Participants will be taken to their museum of choice in the momihg and will meet at a central location in the evening.
Vans will leave the Trinity church parking lot at 8 a.m. and return about 8 p.m. The charge for travel will be $10 per person. Sandwiches and soft drinks will be available for the ride home at a cost of $5. Mail checks with address and phone number to RAAC, P.O. Box 24, Washington, Va. 22747 by Feb. 21. Adult Education Classes Set
Free adult education classes meet from 7-9 p.m. Monday and Wednesday evenings in the basement of the Rappahannock County Public Library. Because all study is individual, persons may join the class at any time. . The staff requests that new students come for the first time on Wednesdays because there are more volunteers to help with intake on that evening. Benefit Dance Planned
The Ululating Mummies from Richmond will be playing at a Sadie Hawkins dance at the Washington Fire Hall on Feb. 24. The dance is a benefit for Spring Mountain School and will run from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Admission is $7 for all ages and refreshments will be available, A prize will be given for the best costume.
Stephen Hawking's Documentary
The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community (RAAC) will, present the British documentary, “A Brief History of Time,” at The Theatre at 8 p.m.. on Sunday, Feb. 25. The Errol Morris film is based on the book by Stephen Hawking, the disabled cosmologist, who has become a worldwide cult figure.
Tickets can be purchased at the door of The Theatre at $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Survivors Group To Meet
