Pastor's Anniversary Promise Land Baptist Church in Washington will celebrate the 21st anniversary of their pastor, John Ross Pendleton on Sunday, Aug. 24. The morning worship service will be at 11 a.m. with Rev. Pendleton speaking. Dinner will be served following morning service. The afternoon guests will be Pastor Charles Jackson and his congregation from Third Zion Baptist Church in Front Royal at 3 p.m. All are welcome.

Group meeting planned First Place a Christ centered health program addresses emotional, spiritual, physical and mental needs. Group meetings held once a week for 13 weeks include food planning behavior modification, bible study, prayer, class discussion and participation. In the first three sessions held at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church, 11 team members gained insight to their personal level of commitment to Christ while they lost weight. New Bible study On Friday, Sept. 5 a new Bible study group will hold its first meeting. The Community Bible Study has classes for all ages and will meet every Friday at the Warrenton United Methodist Church from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. A nursery will be provided.
