The first annual Rappahannock RoughRide is scheduled for Sept. 20, a charity bicycle tour of Rappahannock County to benefit the Fauquier Free Clinic, Inc.
The tour is being sponsored by local area residents and businesses.
Each participant can choose to ride one of three routes, 10 and 32-mile tours Over paved roads or a 25-mile “RoughRide” over paved and unpaved roads. The event starts at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Episcopal Church ip Washington, Va. and each route travels through beautiful countryside.
Everyone who registers will have a chance to win a dinner for two at The Inn at “Little” Washington. The Inn is famous worldwide for its service and food.
“We wanted to combine a fund event for the entire family with an important cause,” said Patty Montgomery, the RoughRide committee chairman. “Since most of us on the committee love to cycle, a ‘tour de Rappahannock’ seemed like a great way to accomplish both.” ,
“The Fauquier Free Clinic is a wonderful organization which provides primary health care for uninsured residents in Rappahannock and Fauquier Counties,” she said.
