Bertha Williams

Bertha Shelton Williams, 87, of Chester Gap died Tuesday, Aug. 12 at her home.

Funeral services were held at the Chester Gap Baptist Church on Saturday, Aug. 16 with the Rev. Jimmy Burke officiating.

Interment was in the Williams Family Cemetery at Chester Gap.

Mrs. Williams was bom April 23, 19 lO, at Huntly, the daughter of the late Noah Samuel and Sarah Shelton Williams.

She was predeceased by her husband Stanley A. Williams and by her first husband George W. North, Sr.

Mrs. Williams was a member of the Chester Gap Baptist Church and honorary member of the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

Surviving are two sons George W North, Jr. of Front Royal and Anderson A. North of Chester Gap; three daughters Mary A. Williams and Nora Sealock, both of Chester Gap and May Belle Henson of Riverton; two step-sons Maynard Williams and Melvin Williams, both of Front Royal; four step-daughters Marcelle McNeill and Estelle Sibert, both of Front Royal, May Belle Gilkey of Chester Gap and Rosa Belle Burdette of Annandale.

Also surviving are three brothers Bradley Williams of ; Chester Gap, Bossie Williams of Front Royal and Arnold D. ]
