Adult classes offered
Adult education classes are being offered by the Rappahannock County Public Schools for the Fall 1997 session. Classes will be taught by professional teachers, trade employees, and/or persons familiar with the subject being taught. Deadline for fall enrollment is Sept. 5. Cattle program scheduled
A Virginia Quality Assured Feeder Cattle program will be held at 6 p.m. on Aug. 26 at the Washington fire department. Registration will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:15 and four speakers throughout the evening. Fore reservations or more information call the Rappahannock Extension Office at 675-3619 or Jane Naramore at 9375367 by Aug. 25. The program is coordinated and sponsored by the Rappahannock Farmers’Association, Virginia Cooperative Extension, and Bayer Corporation. The barbecue dinner is provided by Gerald Good Bayer Agriculture Division.
Jenkins family to meet
The annual reunion of the relatives and friends of the late Luther E. and Ada F. Jenkins will be held at Graves Mountain Lodge picnic shelter Aug. 24. A picnic lunch will be served at 1 p.m.
Free Herbal Consultation
A free Herbal Consultation provided by second year students of Dream time Center for Herbal Studies, supervised by Kathleen Maier, PA, AGH will be held Wednesday, Aug. 27 at the Rappahannock Healing Arts Center in Sperryville. Call ahead for an appointment, 987-7204.
Fundraiser rescheduled
The annual meeting and fund-raiser of the Rappahannock County Historical Society has been rescheduled to Saturday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the home of the society’s president Doug Baumgardner.
Ceremony planned
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department plans a commissioning ceremony of its brand new pumper fire truck on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. Drinks and light snacks will be provided along with demonstrations of the Department’s various pieces of equipment. The public is cordially invited.
Video show scheduled
The last Friday-of-the-month video show will be held Aug. 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock Healing Arts in Sperryville. Come dance or just enjoy the show, Gabrielle Roth/The Wave. Cost is $3. “We’ve got air-conditioning, popcorn and a great space,” said an organizer.
Art exhibit in the nest
Dulaney Hollow Bed and Breakfast and Antiques cordially invites you to the opening reception presenting the Monotypes of the Blue Ridge by Tucker Hill and Chinese Brush Paintings — “Flower & Bird” by Charlene M. Fuhrman-Schultz and Sculptures of Recent Works by Jim Fort on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m.
