Rappahannock News Staff Writer

The delay in opening school in Rappahannock is due to a delay on the new roof at the high school, said Dr. David Gangel at last week’s School Board meeting.

Dr. Gangel, superintendent of schools, told the board the Rappahannock Public Schools will open on Tuesday, Sept. 2, one week later than previously scheduled.

The metal roof is being prefabricated according to specifications at a plant in Tennessee and is scheduled to arrive on Aug. 21.
