The sole voice in opposition was that of adjoining property owner, Helen Dixon. Mrs. Dixon, who has been at the center of several recent Amissville-area development proposals, referred to a letter that she had written "showing things that need to be looked at before reaching a decision.”
Commission members appeared generally in favor of the application, but concerns were noted about parking, the screening of parking from Mrs. Dixon's property, the down shielding of lighting, and limitations on outside music. After establishing conditions that addressed these concerns, the Commission voted unanimously to forward the application to the Board of Supervisors. The conditions imposed are that parking must be screened from the adjoining property, all new exterior lighting must be down shielded, no music is permitted after 10:30 p.m., and the approval will be subjected to a 12 month review.
