Kathleen R. Newton, 72, of Winchester died Friday, Sept. 15 at Winchester Medical Center.
Graveside services were held on Monday, Sept. 18 at the Sperryville Cemetery.
Mrs. Newton was born in Winchester on June 7, 1928, the daughter of the late Luther B. and Josie Smedley Racer. She attended Rappahannock County School.
Mrs. Newton was a receptionist for the Internal Revenue Service and a nurse's aide in Baltimore.
She is survived by cousins and friends.
Jones Funeral Home of Winchester was in charge of the arrangements.
