Isabel Butler

Isabel Rutherford Butler, 86, of Front Royal died Tuesday, Sept. 19 at Clearview Manor in Bentonville.

Graveside services were conducted on Friday, Sept. 22 at Prospect Hill Cemetery with Pastor Theresa Hoffman.

Mrs. Butler was born Nov. 12, 1914 in Rappahannock County, daughter of Keiffer and Mollie Mills Rutherford. After the death of her parents in 1918, she came to live with her aunt and uncle, Richard and Lucy Mills.

At the age of fifteen she went to work at the Schwarzenbach-Huber Company (Silk Mill) and was employed there until the company closed in the late 1960's. She retired from the Hy-Wy Restaurant where she worked as a cook for ten years.

She was predeceased in 1955 by her husband, Dennis Bryant Butler.

Survivors include her daughter, Darlene K. Strother of Front Royal; a nephew, Kenneth L. Campbell of Laurel, Md., who made his home with Mrs. Butler; her sister, Pauline R. Keatts of Front Royal; one grandson, Bryan W. Strother of Langley Air Force Base in Newport News.

Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal was in charge of the arrangements.
