The bright spot for the Panthers were Amanda Weakley scoring a season high 20 points. Gwen Johnson added ten. Coach Michael Dayton focused on the positive contribution of Ms. Weakley, "Amanda played extremely well tonight, showing she can be a real presence out there. We just need to put it all together and then we'll be there."
On Thursday and Friday last week the girls' basketball teams continued their season. Thursday night the Lady Panthers traveled to Clarke County High School for what was to be the most exciting game of their season so far. The JV had a rough night losing to the girls from Clarke by a score of 50-6. Lara Kreyling scored all six of the Panther’s points. The excitement began when the two varsity squads took to the court.
Our Lady Panthers jumped off to an early lead of 6-0 and held on to lead at halftime 22-20. The Lady Eagles fought back early in the second half and gained a 32-27 edge at the end of the third quarter. The Panthers wouldn’t give up and tied the score at 38-38 with three minutes left in the game.
