Another happy image, “Spring, 2001”, made with colored pencils combines purple wind flowers, yellow daffodils and a red and yellow flower on a green and blue background. While we are enjoying these flowers now, Scott’s picture serves to keep them in our mind for a time to come.
“Tree Ear Feathers”, another pencil picture, seems to be entirely an abstract design, but upon examination, it reminds me of the look of a cut down tree with its age rings defined.
Scott’s work would impress art devotees who are looking for the ways colors can be “created” and combined, ideas can be suggested, and lyrical images can grow from the hand of an artist in love with color and the way it can dignify life forms.
