Dig, ne is strong, and he is too fast for the horses he’s faced this year. His trainer, Bob BafTert and his jockey, Gary Stevens have won the Derby before, so they’re not likely to get Derby jitters. This horse is the one to beat. He’s just awesome right now.
•Congaree: The mystery horse. He’s only run four races in his career, but the last three have been smashing, including an easy triumph in the Wood Memorial in his last pre-Derby prep April 14. Also | trained by Bob Baffert, this I son of Arazi could be the one to beat Baffert’s Point Given, but the record of horses with | only four starts to their name L when they line up in Louisville is 0-24. This colt has tons of ability.
