and the comprehensive plan must show the locality’s “longrange recommendations for the general development of the territory covered by the plan.”
The required plan review must take into account factors including economic and population growth, and the new census data will provide updated baseline information for new projections. It is likely that the Planning Commission will have the option of accepting assistance in plan review from local organizations, including the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, who are engaged in or have plans to create committees to develop comprehensive plan recommendations.
