for Life is coming up soon —
donations, help needed
The American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for
Life will be held May 18 and May 19 at the
Rappahannock County Elementary School with ceremonies beginning around 7 p.m. If you have not signed up and would like to participate in some way - there are many teams walking. It shouldn’t be difficult to find a team with someone you know participating.
If previous plans prevent you from attending, consider the cause and the many survivors of cancer that live right here in Rappahannock as well as those that were not as fortunate and make a donation to a member of one of the teams.
Research is the key to beating cancer and even though the many early detection programs now being used have improved cancer victim’s chances immensely there is still much that needs to be done. But, we all know that research takes money.
Two years ago, Rappahannock branched out from the Fauquier and Culpeper groups. The end results were remarkable. The first year on our own, we raised $62,300 and last year the total was $68,187. Lets each do our part to make this year the best yet.
Several events, bake sales, yard sales, dinners, etc. are planned for the weeks ahead before the race. We encourage you to support these activities with your presence and monies.

Remember: the Relay for Life is a relay without a finish line .... until we find a cure for cancer.
