Sbphomore Rachel Sharp was the story with her fine pitching all week for the girls’ Varsity softball team, including a no-hitter thrown against the Page County Lady Panthers (see Softball).
Additionally, we finally beat “Old. Man Weather” and managed to get in a complete weeks’ worth of athletic competitions. The weather threatened to make things messy all week and even managed to give us some snow flurries during our games on Tuesday April 17, but the teams played through the brisk, cold weather and had themselves a pretty good week.
On Friday, April 20, the spring teams handed our neighboring nemesis, Madison County High School, five defeats out of six games in three sports - that’s the way to go Panther’s!
The track team was in action this past week; the baseball and softball teams each played three games; and the soccer teams each played a pair.
There were 16 baseball, softball and soccer games this past week and the Rapp Panthers won 12 of them - not bad, for spring break.
