PTO dinner scheduled

The April RCES PTO dinner meeting will be held Friday, April 27 in the RCES cafeteria. Pot luck dinner will be at 6 p.m.and the meeting at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Child care is provided during the meeting. Please come and join this energetic group of parents for a fun and productive evening.

This weekend at Blue Moon

Lean & Mean will be performing on Friday, April 27 at Blue Moon Cafe just west of Sperryville. Black Heritage Orchestra will perform on Saturday, April 21.

Relay bake sale scheduled

The Faith Mountaineers, a Relay for Life team, is holding a fund raising bake sale on Saturday, April 28 in front of the Fajfh Mountain Store. The Relay for Life is the annual fund raising event of the Rappahannock County Chapter of the American Cancer Society. Relay for Life is a community event in which teams of 8-15 people raise funds and take turns in the Relay. The Relay will be held May 18-19 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School.

Qiieen contestants sought

Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company is now seeking contestants for their annual Carnival Queen, ages 1320; Jr. Miss, ages 8 to 12; Little Miss, ages 3 to 7 and Little Mister, ages 3 to 7. For tickets and more information contact Sandi Carter at 937-4218. The carnival will be held June 27-30.

Sperryville plans carnival

The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department's annual carnival will be held June 6-9. The parade will be held Thursday, June 7at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in participating should contact Greg Williams at 675-2530.

The crowning of the queen will be held Saturday, June 9 at 10 p.m. Any contestants interested in participating should contact Monte Clinedinst at 987-9625 or Michele Jenkins at 9879440.

Lions Club plan auction

The Rappahannock Lions Club will hold their annual auction on Saturday, May 12 at 6 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. If you have items to donate, please call Henry B. Wood at 987-3301 or Joel Daczewitz at 987-8395. All donations will be greatly appreciated.

“I)og Day Afternoon ” planned

Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL) presents the first “Dog Day Afternoon" Saturday June 2nd (rain date Sunday June 3rd) from 12 to 5 p.m. at Windsor Lodge Farm in Rint Hill. Admission $5 (children 12 and under free).

“Join us for a family fun day featuring doggie demos and contests: Terrier Races, “Tongue in Cheek” Dog Show, Agility Fun Runs, Working Dog Demos and more!
