Stating that her husband will “continue to fight for average Virginians in every corner of the state,” the wife of lieutenant gubernatorial candidate Delegate Alan Diamonstein visited Rappahannock County on Wednesday, April 18 lauding her husband’s strong support of public education and his proven record of accomplishment in the General Assembly.
Speaking to a group of Rappahannock County Democrats at Rae’s Place in Sperryville, Beverly Diamonstein said that “There has been no stronger and effective fighter for a strong system of public education than Alan Diamonstein. Legislation he has gotten passed has helped thousands of average families afford college educations. And, he has made sure Virginia’s children get the education they need in safe and well funded schools.”
Mrs. Diamonstein went on to highlight her husband’s legislative accomplishments in the areas of health care, affordable housing in rural areas, economic development, and public safety.
Diamonstein, a former Chairman of the state Democratic Party, is cochairman of the General Laws Committee and was a longstanding member of the House Appropriations Committee. He also serves on the Finance; Rules; and Counties; Cities; and Towns committees.
A University of Virginia graduate and veteran of the Air Force, Diamonstein and his wife have four children and five grandchildren.
