Randall Updike, chairman of the Mary Elizabeth Williams Memorial Fund, has written to the Rappahannock County community at large to remind them of the benefit dinner for the memorial fund at the home of Jim Fletcher and Debbie Massie on Saturday, April 28 at 4:30 p.m.
In his letter, Updike notes that the Rappahannock County community has, once again, an opportunity to “celebrate the spring season and the promise of new horizons.”
He notes that Mary Beth Williams, “whose life has become a symbol of the spring season for this community,” was tragically killed in an automobile accident in May of 1997.
Mary Beth Williams, was according to Updike a “vibrant, personable teenager who had many dreams and aspirations.” One of Mary Beth’s interests was the study of agriculture.
