That’s the way we see the race. Of course, a year’s worth of planning and work by a trainer can come undone by something as simple as a horse stumbling out of the gate or being blocked at the wrong time. Only one favorite has won the Derby in the last 22 years, and that militates against Point Given.
Still, as a betting proposition, it’s always better to bet on the best horse in the race, and right now, that’s Point Given.
