Spring is here! Gardens are abloom with yellow daffodils, blue crocus, and pink quince. Rappahannock Garden Club members are busily preparing their tribute to spring, “In This Delightful Garden Grows...”, a Standard Flower Show to be held Saturday, May 19.
Club members will design floral arrangements using fresh flowers in a variety of styles and sizes. The arrangements will be placed throughout the rooms of a member’s home.
Exhibits of “Native Flowers and Grasses,” and “A Trail of Bluebirds” will also be presented. The show will be open to the public in the afternoon after the judges have reviewed the exhibits.
Members have been taking classes in Japanese flower arranging in preparation for the show. Further information will be given in the Rappahannock News as time draws closer.
At their March meeting, with the flower show in mind, club members were presented with a program by Shirley Kinneman from Designer’s Choice Shop in Culpeper.
