Going to prom and picking out that special dress usually brings to mind images of vibrant colors, soft material, and the latest fashions as you dance the night away.
For the boy, it’s renting a fancy tuxedo and for the girl, it’s usually a shopping trip and an item, like duct tape, wouldn’t be on the list.
But, for two local students, they chose to break the mold.
Alicia Vanegas and Karl Laing, eleventh graders at Rappahannock County High School decided to m&ke their prom attire entirely out of duct tape. The outfits do have vibrant colors, as Alicia’s dress was a bright red with ruffles, but it definitely was not soft.
