Jessamine Hill Farm, located near Little Washington in Tiger Valley, is considered one of the area’s most historic homes. James Leake Powers, a master builder in the early 1800s, is credited with building the stately manor house on Jessamine Hill Farm. Powers also built several other historic properties in the county, including the County Court House, the present Town Council building, the Washington Baptist Church, and the Ben Venue house.
