“The Story of the Weeping Camel” is a sweet, tiny movie from Mongolia that honestly pre'sents a real way of life in all its cultural color. Not just a family film, this movie is for everyone. The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community is showing “Camel” at The Theatre on Gay Street, Washington, VA, Friday, May 6, 8:00 p.m.
Filmmakers Byambasusren Davaa and Luigi Falomi, newcomers who met at Germany’s Munich Film Academy, tell a story that Davaa has lived many times over. “The Story of the Weeping Camel” is what is called a “narrative documentary,” meaning that some of it has been candidly shot while other moments have been re-created to advance the filip dramatically.
