JUBILANT JESSAMINE: Above, the brick manor home, built in the 1830s by a master builder who is said to have done his apprenticeship under Thomas Jefferson, is one of the area’s best preserved homes from the early 1800s. VERDANT VIEW: Right, this view from the house shows the mature gardens with their old oaks, towering junipers, and mature boxwoods slope down to a small lake with views of the Blue Ridge. Also seen in this picture is an original stone guest house dating from the mid-1800s.
