Relay for Life fund-raising and planning continues.
But more new teams are required to help in the fundraising and in tu jnjoyment of the Relay itself on May 2122 at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. Each year, some of the old teams drop out and new teams must take their place. This year, there are some new teams but more new teams are still required. Some of the new teams added this year include a Sunnyside Team led by Tamara Waldo; and two teams of Cheer Leaders and Honor Society members from the High School, Cheer for Life and Cheer for Life Too, led by Michelle Kaye. New teams are welcome right up until the day of the Relay. Ibam packages are still available by calling Ben Atkins at 635-2377, and they can be picked up at Settles in Flint Hill or at the Commissioner of Revenue’s office in Washington.
Relay for Life is a community event in which teams of 815 people (15 maximum on one team) take turns in the Relay. Being on a team is your opportunity to get involved and make a difference in the battle against cancer. Music, food, team campsites, entertainment, and camaraderie will combine to create a huge slumber party, full of family fun, all the while, reinforcing the message that today, more and
