The Rappahannock Non Profit Center has elected seven members to serve on its initial Board of Directors and is currently seeking to hire its first Executive Director. Board members are: Martin Woodard, Linda Dietel, Alexia Morrison, Amy Silver, Julie Portman, Mary Anne Biggs and Mike Mahoney. The Center came about through the efforts of local volunteers seeking ways to strengthen the management practices, fundraising success and operational systems of local non profit groups. Centers such as this are common throughout the country.
After an open “Town Forum” held in January 2004 at the library and attended by 60 community members, the decision was made to move forward. 1b date, the RNPC has sponsored two workshops, one on fundraising and one on annual and strategic planning.
