Manage Powdery

Mildew by Rotating

Grape Fungicides

Powdery mildew has reportedly developed resistance to sttobilurin and sterol inhibitor fungicides. And ith high levels of' overwintering inoculum present, it's important to rotate fungicides to prevent resistance and control powdery mildew.

Initiating a preventive program using Dithane* DF Raimhield*, Nova* 40W and new Quin tec" fungicides in 2( X >5 is a good start.

Quintec is the newest resistance management tool for the control of powdery mildew. Quinoxyten, the active ingredient in Quintec, has die ability to redistribute across expanding leaf' and berry tissues, so it forms a protective barrier, even in hardto-cover areas, for super . > - bunch and leaf protection.

Wherever possible, and * especially on wine grapes, sulfur should be tank-mixed with Quintec and other powdery mildew fungicides as an additional resistance management practice.

Nova remains one of the leading fungicides for control of powdery mildew and black rot. It’s absorbed into die plant and kills die fungus early in the infection process before symptoms appear.

A protectant fungicide like Dith-yie kills fungus spores as they germinate. I )ithane may be applied on processing grapes until the bloom stage and through late season oil wine grapes for control of downy mildew; Phomopsis, leaf spot and black rot. It makes a great tank-nux partner with powdery mildew fungicides, such as Quintec, for full-spectrum disease control in grapes.

Tank-mix Didiane with alternate applications of Nova and Quintec " fungicides early season. He sure to use Nova and Quintec during the summer for liuf*T>ved late-season disease control of powdery mildew.
