However, with Dulles gearing up to frill build-out in the next 10 years—to a capacity of 50 million passengers annually—the ripple effect will soon be catching the region’s outlying counties.
“We’re looking at 27 million passengers by the end of this year, and our demographic projections indicate another 20 million or so in the next 10 years,” Browne said. “So, there will be around 47 million going in and out of Dulles that we have to prepare for.”
