Of course, if we knew who the terrorists were, we would just stop the ones with the explosive material in their backpacks. We could just put up a sign before you go into the subway stations, and say, “All terrorists, please report to the bomb squad for detonation.” We wouldn’t have to stop everybody and search them. No reason to do that.
Of course, we don’t know who the terrorists are. We have to respond in whatever way we can to make our lives safer. And all of us have to suffer a bit, and have our bags examined and our personal space invaded. That’s because, supposedly, we don’t know what terrorists look like.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I have been able to tell the difference between a motorcycle and a car for a long time.
And, yet, our response to motorcycle riders wht> don’t obey the laws of the highway and common sense, is to put restrictions on everybody. We have lowered the speed limits, for everybody, motorcycles and four wheel vehicles alike. Why? Were too many cars going over the bank? Were two many trucks sliding under the guardrails due to excessive speed?
And rumble strips? Don’t even get me started. Why should I have the suspension of my car or truck tested to its limits and my teeth rattled because someone on a motorcycle wants to see a few sparks when he goes around dead man’s turn? Why? It makes no sense to me. Does anyone honestly believe that the individual who does not
