The University of Mary Washington located in Frederickburg has bestowed the “Distinguished Alumnus Award” upon Mrs. Virginia Lewis Dalton, who for many years was a science teacher in Culpeper High School. This writer had the privilege of being in her class in my senior year. Mrs. Dalton is a past president of the Virginia Education Association and a member of the National Education Association Board, and was named the “Outstanding Woman Educator of Virginia in the year 1976.
While teaching in the Culpeper School system, Mrs. Dalton resided with her parents on the farm on Stonehouse
