The Rappahannock Lion’s Club annual picnic was held on Thursday, July 15 at the county park. It’s always a major event and a festive celebration of family, fun and fellowship and country-style feasting for all. Aside from plentiful food what makes these traditional picnics so important is the official purpose of these parties.

July brings a changing of the guard within the Lions; leadership. This year, Waller Jones brought in the swearingin and installation of the ‘05-06’ officers.

Past-President Ken Marlor turned over the gavel to President David A. Hilty who will be very ably supported by First Vice-President Bob Lander, second Vice-President Dave Covington, and third VicePresident, Larry Grove.

Bill Crosley accepted the duties of secretary while Charlie Shear accepted the duties of TVeasurer. Membership will be
