Upgrading one of the airport’s three runways is expected to be completed next month, while environmental assessments are being conducted for building two more runways. The fourth runway is expected to be operational by 2008.
The mobile lounges that shuttle passengers from the terminal to the various concourses and aircraft gates will be replaced by an automated train system, which will run underground.
It is aimed at both providing more efficiency and capacity than the mobile lounges do and reducing traffic on the airfield.
