Since 1917, Lions dubs have offered people the opportunity to give something back to their communities. From involving members in projects as local as deaning up an area park or as far-reaching as bringing sight to the world’s blind, Lions dubs have always embraced those committed to building a brighter future for their community. Our programs are continually changing to meet new needs and greater demands, but our mission has never wavered: "We Serve. The Rappahannock Lions Club is a service organization with the mission to "create and foster a spirit of understanding mong all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation." To that end, the members of the Rappahannock Lions Club raise funds to provide services and opportunities in the community The club sponsors a visiting Sight and Hearing van which visits the county public and private schools. Members use the equipment in the van to screen students and teachers for sight and hearing defidendes. The club also provides assistance to the local Boy Scouts, 4-H Clubs, and other special needs as they arise. The members of the Rappahannock Lions Club raise funds through donations, apple butter sales and special events. These events enhance member camaraderie and spirit which flows into Lions Club service activities. The club meets at the Public House restaurant in Flint Hill at 7 p.m. every second and fourth Thursdays.
