Joseph Jackson Baldwin, 84, of Rileyville, Va. died on Thursday, July 21 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, Va.
Mr. Baldwin was bom September 14, 1920 in Rileyville, Va. to the late George Burke Baldwin and Elsia Elizabeth Pullen Baldwin.
He was a tanner for 25 years with Va. Oak Tannery, a lifetime farmer, Navy Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Gid Brown Baptist Church in Washington, Va.
Mr. Baldwin is survived by his wife, Janice Arleen Baldwin of Rileyville, four daughters, Bonnie Stockner, Carolyn Fox and Doris Helton all of Luray, Jane Alger, three sons, J. B. and Roger Baldwin both from Rileyville and Ronnie Baldwin of Luray.
Additional survivors include one brother, Daniel Baldwin of Luray, three sisters, Nina Fox of Luray, Nellie Clatterbuck of Harrisonburg, Va., and Bessie Baldwin of Washington, 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Josephine Baldwin, four sisters, Verlie and Deplhia Baldwin, Vergie Smeltzer and Mary Welch.
Funeral services were held on July 25 at Bradley Funeral Home, Inc. in Luray with Pastor John K. Burke and Harold H. Spencer, Jr. officiating. Interment followed in Keyser Family Cemetery, Rileyville, Va.
