Seats were scarce in the audience as nearly 50 people packed into the County Courthouse. The majority of those in the crowd seemed to be opposed to the permit, with more than 15 people standing up to speak against approval and one person speaking in favor of it.
Attorneys Doug Baumgardner, Mike Brown and David Konick were present on behalf of B&S. Baumgardner said that, although the neighborhood along Seven Ponds Road may be mostly residential, it is zoned agricultural and B&S has a right to operate a light industrial business with a special exception in that zone. Attorney Brown pointed out that the site, which was previously Bardo Brewery, has undergone several improvements and is more attractive and valuable as a result of work done by B&S.
