The Gay St Inn lavishes its guests with attractively-decorated rooms, fashionable furnishings and antiques suitable to the d6cor, and exquisite personal attention. The new owners seek to make their Inn an appealing and comfortable home. “We like interaction with our guests and are flattered when people are relaxed and act as if they were ‘at home,’ ” Brown said.
In the library reception room as your enter the Inn, a guest can cozy up with a book in front of the original green stone fireplace. Not surprisingly, guests do just that. According to Brown commenting on the experience of a recent guest, “We came into the library one evening and one of our guests was stretched out on the sofa with his shoes off enjoying a good book. He seemed embarrassed as we came in but we reassured him that this is what we would want a guest to do.”
