The Wakefield Owls varsity boy’s basketball team recorded its first Delaney Athletic Conference (DAC) win in three years with a 6453 victory over Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy on November 28.
Wakefield led throughout the game as Patrick Dale earned 21 points, while Andrew Smith added 15. Ben Luke scored 11 points. Alex Shafran made 11 steeds in the game, as WCDS evened its record at 1-1.
In spite of the win, the Owls newfound pride was stung by a loss to the Randolph Macon Yellow Jackets on November 30. The final score was 58-26.
Patrick Dale, a leading Owls scorer, was unable to play because of a sprained ankle.
WCDS returned against Massanutten Military Academy, winning the second game of the season on December 4.
