Lights of Love tree
coming to Rappahannock Rappahannock County will now have our own Lights of Love tree in Washington this Christmas season. Lights of Love is a wonderful way of honoring our men and women serving in the military;, remembering our departed loved ones . and honoring loved ones who are still with us. Lights will be placed on the tree-blue for our military, white lights for those departed, and red lights for loved ones that are still with us. Prices are $5 for one light, 6 lights for $20. The tree, near the Rappahannock School Board office on US 211, will be lighted on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 5 p.m. Rain date on Sunday, December 10 at 5 p.m. County children will be singing. All names of those to be remembered will be listed in the book of honor, which will be displayed in the Rappahannock library through out the Christmas season, the tree will remain lit through New Years Day. The donations will benefit The Dylan Corbin Scholarship Fund which provides local scholarships. Donations can be sent to RCHS, attention Kelly Settle. Make checks payable to Dylan Corbin Scholarship Fund. Donations may also be dropped off at the Commissioner of Revenue Office in Washington.
