The show reunites the two artists who have discovered — along with many gallery goers — that Jordan's colorful oils of airy interiors and landscapes complement Hill’s monochromatic monotype prints of Piedmont mountains and fields.
An artists’ reception will be held Sunday, December 10th from 2-5 p.m.
June Jordan lives in the Old Hollow in Sperryville where she works in her Piney Rim Studio and ventures out to locations such as Edisto Island, South Carolina and St. Andrews, New Brunswick, Canada. After studying at the University of Georgia, Jordan returned to Virginia in 1965 in to open a pottery studio in Little Washington where she worked as a potter as well as a three year stint teaching at University of West Florida. In the late 1980s she renewed her interest in painting that had begun in high school. She has shown in regional and national exhibitions in past years and taken awards at the Art League in Alexandria, Virginia. Her paintings are in private collections through out the country.
