Virginia elects
new directors
Members of the Land Trust of Virginia, Inc., voted to elect three new members to the board of directors at the annual membership meeting held Nov. 18 at Buchanan Hall in Upperville.
The new directors are Childs F. Burden, a chartered financial analyst who is also a partner with The Secor Group and also serves as a director of Middleburg Financial Corporation and Security Storage Company of Washington; Richard A. Farland II, president of Farland Capital, Inc., an investment management firm; and Patricia Ewing, senior counsel for Orbital Sciences Corp. who previously served as the director of land projects for the American Farmland Trust and counsel for the World Wildlife Fund.
The new directors will join returning directors James E. Rich, Turner T. Smith Jr., Birge Watkins, Merritt Jones, Steffanie Burgevm, Phil Paschall, Patnc Copeland, Chris Dematatis, Ms. Allen Ohrstrom, Linda Porter, Henry Rathbun and Edie Smart.
