Santa (Jlaus rode into Washington on a fire engine provided by the Washington Volunteer Fire Department. After the parade Santa Claus greeted children at Santa’s Workshop in Sunnyside Square. Ibwn council “elf" Claudia Mitchell assisted Santa together with a number of elf helpers.
Lois Snead, Nancy Keyser, and Bryant Lee were the judges of the first ever “Deck the Doors" contest.
Washington businesses and residences participated in the contest, and first prize was awarded to “The Gay Street Inn.”
Parade Director Denise Chandler said that this year’s parade could not have been better.
“The day was perfect in every way, from the weather to the crowds to the participants.” she said joyfully.
