The new owners of the Gay Street Inn are volunteers and joiners. As a photojouraalist who attends meetings and events all over the county, I quickly became aware that these new folks were into learning more about their community. They could be seen soon after they arrived at venues as different as council meetings of the Tbwn, theatre gatherings at both The Theatre at Washington and Ki Theatre, public hearings on waste disposal problems in the town, and social and cultural events everywhere.
“Being in business gives us a stake in the community. We want to contribute to our community. And the best way to learn about Rappahannock County and its people and institutions is to get out and about, meet our neighbors and make friends,” Adams said recently.
