FRONT ROYAL - His coat glistening in the November morning sunshine, the bay stallion plays directly to the camera. Like a Hollywood starlet, Zarr knows when to pose, where to stand, which is his “good side” (for the record, the right, where his black mane lays neatly brushed).
As if a director cues the action, the horse gallops effortlessly along the fence line, sliding to a stop at the end of the row. Zarr pauses dramatically, ears forward, neck arching provocatively before wheeling for another run.
“He’s a big showoff,” says Stoneledge Farm owner Daiyl Stout, smiling at the Trakehner’s antics. She and husband Teddy played host at a Stoneledge open house to introduce the newest addition to Virginia’s swelling roster of warmblood sporthorse stallions. “He knows he’s the star of the show.”
