Canard said that the Stouts came into the sporthorse breeding business only recently. “Daryl grew up with horses, but neither of them ever had anything to do with the breeding end of things,” said the Middleburg native and lifelong hunter-jumper horseman. “They jumped right in with this farm. They’re building another bam (to join the original old dairy bam and modem horse stable already on site) to house all the mares, and four stallions. They have 17 mares to foal this year ... They are really getting involved.”
A 41-year-old native of Front Royal, Tteddy Stout graduated from Warren County High. Wife Daryl, 36 and also a WCHS grad, helps in the family custom homebuilding business.
