An early burst from Millbrook High School caught the Rappahannock County boy’s varsity soccer team off guard, as the Pioneers scored two goals in the first five minutes of the game. The Panther’s responded by keeping the ball in their possession, but were unable to send many shots to the goal. Panther keeper, Will Bolte, rebounded as the game progressed and stopped all future shots towards the goal.
Tlje second half resulted in a stronger team performance from Rappahannock which resulted in more shots against Millbrook, and a tighter defense. After fouling a player toward the end of the game, a Millbrook player was red carded and sent off the field allowing Jordan Torrance to score a penalty kick for the Panthers only score.
“The team performed well in the second half,” said Varsity Head Coach Shay Bell. “Even though we lost we were able to step up our performance in the middle of the game.” The boy’s will travel to Millbrook High
