and talents of new members will truly want you to do a good job, to “nail it” to bring life and excitement to your presentation. And so, even though I could go on for volumes about “How to Audition,” these few ideas wall start you on the way to a good audition.
Be convinced and eager to tell your character’s story with warmth and humanity to the production crew who really want to give the role to the best possible candidate.
The audition is merely the beginning of the production process. The young actors who get the roles now have hours and hours of work ahead. Those who did not get the parts cannot feel that they have failed. Often a director has a vision of the play that calls for a certain look or sound. If not chosen, you must remember there is always another play and another opportunity perhaps that will fit you even better than the one you didn’t get. A wonderful actor from this area, Michael Miyazaki always laughs and says “Til never work again,” knowing he will. It is a matter of continuous training combined with being yourself that makes the audition enjoyable and successful.
