Arts & Crafts Camp
Spring Break Arts & Crafts Camp for ages 6-12 from April 6,9,10,11,12and 13 from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Recreation Park Pavilion Pirate Park, Washington. Spend Spring Break working on unique arts and crafts projects with a professional artist. The emphasis is on Creativity, Fun. Games and the Great Outdoors. The multi-media experience includes: Basketweaving, paper making watercotor painting, drawing, bead work and jewelry making, beeswax candles, art from nature, drumming and movement Children bring lunch, snack, drinks. April 1: ‘Dragonflies and
Damselflies”
There will be an April Fools Day program at 7:00 p.m. at Hearthstone School, “Life in Water and Air Dragonflies and Damselflies” by local arborist and naturalist Lyt Wood, sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection’s Biodiversity Task Force. This free program is suitable for all ages and will include photos and prizes. Donations optional to benefit the Rappahannock Nature Camp. Note the early time to accommodate students and parents. April 2: “Raphael”
David Lowe, author and art historian from Oxford University, will return to Rappahannock County to continue his popular lecture series. This year Lowe will give a slide program on Raphael, one of the celebrated painters of the High Renaissance. Optional donations will be accepted to help cover the lecturer’s travel expenses. April 4: Nonprofit
Networking Luncheon
The Rappahannock Nonprofit Center will host the Nonprofit Networking Luncheon on Wednesday, April 4, from 12 to 1 p.m. This luncheon series is to provide nonprofits an opportunity to network, discuss concerns and issues they are facing, and to share information and resources they have found to be helpful. The initial series of luncheons was a great success and the nonprofits have asked to continue this forum.
