Russell B. “RB” Moore of Amissville, VA died on Sunday, March 18, at Fauquier Hospital.
He was bom on February 17, 1930 in Carol County, Maryland to the late Aubrey and Adie Boone Moore.
Mr. Moore served his country proudly as a Seaman in the U.S. Navy on the USS Carpenter. He then ^continued his career as a dedicated fire fighter at Fort Bel voir until his retirement. During his career he received many accommodations and medals for his bravery in supporting and protecting those he worked with and those he served. He became a life time member of the American Legion, Post 72 in Warrenton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Hazel E. Moore, his daughter, Jannett (Suzie) Anderson and her husband Norman, his son, Larry R. (Sam) Moore and his wife, Twinkle, all of Culpeper, six grandchildren, and five greatgrandchildren.
Additional survivors include his brother Ralph Moore and two sisters, Audrey Thorpe and Alice Schank, along with many family members and friends, he was loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Charlotte E. Hanback; brother, Horace Moore; sisters, Margaret Kennedy, Ethel Beilstine, Edna McGraff, Eva Wood and Mary Davis.
The family will receive friends fix>m 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23, at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, where funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
